Since the democratic elections of 1994, South Africa has seen a boom in cultural tourism, mainly focused on the four main black tribal groups and the San Bushmen. How they all came to share this space at the bottom end of Africa is complex tale of mysterious movements, conquests -
and cattle.
South Africa then saw the arrival of the Dutch who colonized the Cape.
Then came the British, who suffered the worst defeat in history - at the
hands of an indigenous people!
South Africa is certainly a "Rainbow Nation" as Nelson Mandela named us. It
is difficult to put so much history into a short page, but here is a short
introduction to our indigenous people.
